Welcome to the Gabus Automotive Groups' web site.  This group was founded by Charles Gabus.  It all began with Mr. Gabus purchasing a Ford dealership in Holdrege, Nebraska in September of 1953.  In August of 1967 the dealership was moved to West Des Moines and in 1970 Charles Gabus Ford moved to its present location.  Charles Gabus Ford is Iowa's largest Ford dealership.

Des Moines Motors first opened its doors in October of 1979 on Merle Hay Road.  The dealership originally opened with only two full time employees!  After operating at a location on NE 14th Street from 1981 to 1986, the company moved to its current location at 4410 Merle Hay Road.

The franchises that make up Des Moines Imports have been with the Gabus group since 1988.  The new facility in Grimes was opened in 2008.  The Kia, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Saab franchises make up Iowa's largest import dealership under one roof!

Toyota of Des Moines joined the group in 1994.  They are proud to be one of the premier dealerships in the area and Iowa's largest auto dealer for all brands!
